To compose my first paper for English 111 I felt it was easy to write down in chronological order about My Composing Processes.  Through the course my personal goal for composing is to strengthen my writing skills and improve my creativity through my monthly Family Newsletter.  I have used My Composing Processes as an example to show how I began in the beginning of the fall semester and later you see the difference in composing processes with other compositions that we would submit.

Academically, I hope to achieve the ability to write effective papers and to be able to support my thesis with concrete evidence.  I have found it challenging in writing the papers throughout the semester.  And as the semester continued the writing process became more difficult. In English 111 you are given the opportunity to help fellow classmates including myself to revise our written assignments with suggestions to assist in writing a more effective paper.  I learned more with Professor Reiss and my fellow classmates feedback on papers that I have written and submitted. 

In the future I intend to take at Tidewater Community College other classes that I will utilize what I have learned in my composing processes for future papers that will be required of me.  As I will register for other academic classes they will require a paper or two in which this will enable me to utilize my composing process and the lessons I have learned in English 111. An example of a composition paper is the People and Events paper and I was to write about a person who had changed my life.  The Woman Who Changed My Life is my mother.  Although it was very difficult to decide who had changed my life, everyone in my family has had an impact in my life.  What I have learned from the suggestions from the teacher and fellow classmates in the revising and editing was to give examples to build a better picture.  I found that writing a good paper was to be descriptive for your audience.  I have acknowledged that the audience consists of various ages and when they are reading my paper I have to give them details to build the picture to better understand my paper.  In composing the Issues paper I had decided to write about the Jet Noise in the City of Virginia Beach, I have felt that this was an ongoing local issue that still raises a few eyebrows and in addition to, an excellent research paper.  More difficult than the last paper I had found it difficult to understand my errors in drafting the paper for example how I would present my thesis in my composing process.  As jet noise in Virginia Beach continues the residents will continue to complain, despite the economic growth in the city and the surrounding cities of Virginia Beach I felt it was appropriate to write a research paper on Jet Noise: The Sound of Freedom or Nuisance?  The research paper was the most difficult and challenging with the time frame permitted and requirements required. 

After writing the research project I had found that creating a poem for our Poetry project was a relief.  I enjoy writing poems and had many to choose from that I have created throughout the years.   As you will see in my papers that were submitted that family is important to me and that the personal papers are just that, about my family.

Furthermore, I hope to utilize the composing process that I have learned in English 111 through my academic, professional, and personal life and would like to encourage others to take the English class.  It is a challenging class for those who do not understand the basics for the composing process, but you will definitely feel like you learned a great deal after taking a semester. In addition to taking the English 111 online course with Tidewater Community College has been an experience.  And for those who say they do not have time to go to school because they are too busy because and have to take care of their families or work, I encourage you to try with the online classes.
